#WTF Wednesday – Reserve your F*cks for only the f*ckworthy situations – words to live by.

My writing partner and bff, Rebecca Barray, introduced me to Mark Manson, and his amazing, insightful advice about The Subtlety of Not Giving a F*ck.

His blog post had three points, but you can bet the book is going on my wishlist for Christmas.

  1. Not giving a f*ck doesn’t mean you’re indifferent. It means you care enough to not give a f*ck about adversity or failure because you’re doing something that is RIGHT. Reserve your f*cks for what really matters – family, friends, important things.
  2. In order to not give a f*ck about adversity – you first must give a f*ck about something more important than adversity. In other words, don’t give f*cks to random trolls on Facebook, or your ex, or even the snotty salesclerk who would rather lose their job than actually work.
  3. You only have so many f*cks to give, spend them wisely, on things that truly matter to you.

My favorite quote of Mark Manson’s blogpost – “Because when we give too many fucks, when we choose to give a fuck about everything, then we feel as though we are perpetually entitled to feel comfortable and happy at all times, that’s when life fucks us.”
